Check our the amazing documentary produced by the fine folks at Hemmings House Pictures that follows the development of Sistema NB from idea - to reality. I had a sneak peak and it is quite an inspiring story. There will be a screening in Moncton and Saint John - admission is free.
Not sure why it is but it's always cool when someone famous mentions where you are from. Whether it's a TV show that says your province or at a concert where the lead singer shouts out your town's name, everyone loves it.
So if you want to hear someone uber famous talk about New Brunswick and Saint John, watch this interview of Donald Trump by Harry Forestell of the CBC. Watch the interview here
But if you want to hear the Trump man in person (along with America's mayor Rudy Giuliani and Newfoundland's favourite son - Danny Williams) be sure to take in the SPARK event this coming October.
No doubt it will be an amazing event. Get your tickets here.
BONUS: Here's someone else famous mentioning New Brunswick (quiet nerds burp only near school)
Hot off their win at the 2011 Summa Cum Laude International Youth Music Festival in Vienna, check out the NBYO October 6 in Edmundston. Here's the poster we did to help promote the event. Visit nbyo-ojnb.ca for more info.
The last of the NBL Canada teams now have a name and a look. The team that will be playing out of Credit Union Place in Summerside will be called the Summerside Storm. We were thrilled when asked to develop the branding for the new professional basketball team. The ownership held a contest with the public to help them choose a name -- then it was over to the very talented Rich Gould here at Razor to do his magic.
Everyone is excited with how it turned out and early fan reaction has been great.

Today was the first day of school and as luck would have it, I happened to come across this wonderful documentary "Children Full Of Life" on education. It's from Japan -- but The Passionate Eye created an English version. It gives us a glimpse into a classroom of 10 year olds and their teacher Mr. Kanamori, a modern day Master Yoda.
If you care about eduction, I highly recommend that you watch this. It's amazing how Kanamori and his students deal with topics like bullying, grief, emotions, team work and more.
I found it on the blog presentationzen.com and says"It will touch your heart and make you think. It does not matter where you are in the world, this glimpse into a single Japanese elementary school is evocative and illuminating. It may just make you question what education is for in the first place"
I totally agree. I wish there were more teachers like Kanamori out there. He is tough, funny, caring, honest and clearly is not afraid to make a connection with students.
Once again, I recommend you take 40 minutes and watch this program today.
Neat promo: In September, Finnair will fly from Helsinki to Singapore with eight hard-core Angry Bird fans, who will compete in the AngryBirds Asian Challenge at an altitude of about 33,000 feet. They are looking for competitors from across the world to take part. Read more about it on the Adweek site:
In case you missed it, below is the full interview I gave this morning with Dave MacDonald on CBC Information Morning about Greezerade and about pushing the edge in marketing.

To promote the new, smaller bottle size, Coca-Cola transformed a crowded highway into an outdoor theater in Bogotá, Colombia.Passersby were prompted to tune into a radio station to hear the accompanying soundtrack.
Great idea -- plus a captive audience for sampling.
